Why there are only a few temples for Sarasvati Devi?

There are thousands of temples for Lakshmi and Durga among the three devis.

But, there are only a very few temples for Sarasvati ma.

What is the reason?

Two reasons are said by acharyas:

(i) Brahma deva has no or very few temples;  So, His consort Sarasvati ma too decided not to have more temples for her.

(ii) Sarasvati ma is a Pativrata. As the controller of arts, she lives at the tongue of Brahma deva.  Since she is living at the tongue of Brahma deva, she did not choose to have separate temples.

In India there are very few popular temples for Sarasvati ma.  One such temples is in Basra in Andhra pradesh that was established by Vyasa deva himself.

There is another popular temple for Sarasvati is situated in a place called Koothanur in Tiruvarur district in Tamilnadu.
